While doing project 3, we redesigned the YouTube application to play music whenever a user closes it on their mobile device. For a user’s mental model, they would tap the YouTube application screen to open the music player, then they would choose a video and close the application to reveal the mobile device’s main screen playing YouTube’s audio file still. The music file from the YouTube application should still be playing through the headphone/speaker output, without interruption, while the application is closed.

The implementation model of the programmers differs from the user’s mental model because users would not need to worry about the technical aspects of how this works. This model does not have to be explained to the users because it only benefits how the programmers view the progress of the design.
