2 - Joshua Jankelow (JFJANKEL)

The first chapter of Designing the obvious serves as a brief overview of what exactly design is, at least in the sense of websites and applications. It discusses what exactly the users role is in design and what one should expect the user to be able to do. A really great example of a user friendly website with obvious design is google.com. This is because there is no guessing going on for the user. It is simple to use and navigate and attracts users of all different demographics. The site has really just one function, which is to search, and that's it. There is nothing that really clogs up the page, rather it has just what is necessary in order to function, and this is a true feature of obvious design.
