6 - Joshua Jankelow (JFJANKEL)

In project #3 I chose to redesign the navigation bar of YouTube's video player. The user will have a Mental Model of this object as being almost like the remote-control for the video; it allows them to navigate through the video as well as adjust screen size, volume, and other basic features. The user really only sees the end product of the design with a Mental Model.The designers, on the other hand, utilize a completely different model. This model, know as the Implementation Model, would be very complex to the end users. Really it is just a bunch of code that would seem meaningless to everybody except the designers.
