Designing the Obvious listed two ways in which an individual can organize his or her ideas.  There are the essentials that a design must have and then there are characteristics/functions/etc that are "nice-to-haves."  An important part of designing is being able to distinguish between these two different organizing methods.  With our YouTube design, my partner and I focused on the video portion.  We thought that that was the main drawing factor of the website.  We wanted to keep people watching these videos so we added a simple method: an autoplay function after an initial video has ended. We didn't add anything overly fancy that would distract users from the main purpose of YouTube, just something to keep viewers on the website for longer periods of time.
