Hoekman discusses "user centered" as a idea and implementation can be user centered, but a user was not the only thing that drove design. Meeting a user's needs is important, but there is a difference in needs and wants. One way to gather what a user needs of a design is through research. Hoekman talks about using different ways such as observing users and how they might use a design. Just because one user finds that something might be useful in a design does not mean that everyone will. So one should cater to all user needs not just one user.
Also Hoekman situation-centric approach to design. In other words instead of a user-centered approach, there is a situation that drives a design. There is a certain situation that calls for the need for a design. I think the best way we could have used a situation-centric approach on our design would have been to talk to more people and observe how they would have used a design. If there were reoccurring situation that they ran into it would be easy to design towards it.
