Designing the obvious clearly states that an obvious design can be easily recognized because "The design should make things clear. The products should be simple to understand, easy to learn, well organized." While there are an ample amount of websites which thoroughly demonstrate an obvious design, one website which is more distinct in its obvious design in comparison to other apps and websites is eBay. While looking at the interface of eBay, it’s navigation bar allows you to select a category and a sub category through a drop down menu. Additionally, the search bar allows you not only to search but to even have a refined search through a specified category. The JQuery (I’m assuming) used in the 5 image “slideshow”allows for eBay to use advertising for company support and revenue, while at the same time marketing to the consumer deals/products of potential interest. The reason the design is so obvious in this circumstance is because the organization through the navigation bar helps the user easily access the webpage, use either the tabs, or search bar to find what they need, select a product, and get out.
