2-Anthony Romweber

The first chapter of the text, “Designing the Obvious”, describes what obvious design is. Basically, it is defined as a simple design that allows a user to browse and navigate with ease. It also goes on to explain why it is important to the design of a website. If it has a user-friendly layout, the website will more than likely be successful. In the first chapter, Hoekman described that the website user should be able to use it for their disclosed purpose, without having to worry about how it works. For example, the Autotrader website has an obvious design in their search criteria. There are numerous fields that allow the user to become familiar with how to navigate and search, but also allow them to proceed without question.
